Huawei WDM Compatibility Test

 

EANTC validated functional, interoperability and performance aspects of multiple Huawei Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) solutions with a specific focus on Storage Area Network (SAN) use case scenarios.

 

OptiXtrans DC908

Huawei OptiXtrans DC908 is an optical-electrical WDM transmission device. It is designed for enterprise DCI use case scenarios - any situation where two redundant data centers are located in a region within a few kilometer distance.

OptiX OSN 1800 & OptiXtrans E6608T

Huawei OptiX OSN 1800 II TP is an optical-electrical WDM transmission device. Huawei OptiXtrans E6608T is a product of the same brand. Both devices provide the same implementation.

OptiX OSN 9800 & OptiXtransE9600

Two different types of chassis participated in the test: Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 M12 and Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 M24. We used two separate topologies to represent their structure difference. The Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 M12 participated in a centralized topology. This architecture (also known as OTU architecture by Huawei) enabled the M12 chassis to add client side services to the WDM side. In particular, it provided a cross-connection function that can forward traffic in a all-cards in-one chassis mode.
