5GASP aims at accelerating SMEs towards the ‘new world’ of 5G-based Network Applications (NetApps), which shall empower various verticals with unique capabilities that will unleash the potential with respect to the ’real-world’ use of 5G technologies.
EANTC contributes state-of-the-art testing expertise — particularly in key areas for 5G deployments such as NFV, SDN, and Network Slicing — to provide benchmarking methodology. EANTC’s special focus on use case-centered, end-to-end testing is applied in the project to develop realistic, representative, and reproducible tests. We cover functional, performance, interoperability, manageability, and security testing domains in the project.
EANTC uses the test methodologies developed in 5GASP to enhance the company’s 5G test services portfolio for vendors, network operators, and enterprises. The 5GASP test coverage complements and completes EANTC’s current testing services in the 5G area, which already include mobile core, RAN, cloud infrastructure, mobile backhaul, large-scale 4G services testing, and layer 7 applications performance and security. EANTC uses the experience gained in test execution with the extensive multi-vendor 5GASP test bed and test tools to educate the team of EANTC test engineers on practical 5G testing and planning for commercial 5G testing services the company offers worldwide. 5GASP enables EANTC to expand its portfolio of services for current customers and potential new ones. Testing 5G applications is a completely new and promising line of services, and the market demand is expected to be high in the near future.
