EANTC conducted an independent test of Huawei’s Data Center Autonomous Network solution, focusing on its readiness for Autonomous Network Level 4 (AN L4) autonomy. The goal of the evaluation was to assess the system’s capabilities for intent-based design, operational assurance, and lifecycle management. It was conducted in a lab environment in Nanjing, China, in May 2025.
As enterprises rapidly expand their data centers, driven by AI/ML workloads, container platforms, private cloud adoption, and data sovereignty requirements, traditional manual operations are reaching their limits. Autonomous networking is becoming essential to manage complexity at scale.
EANTC’s test validated key AN L4 capabilities defined by TM Forum and ETSI, and performed a series of structured tests in a joint lab environment, examining how the solution supports fully automated deployment, intelligent fault handling, and service continuity across the entire lifecycle. The testing covered several core aspects of the platform:
-
Intent-Based POD Design and Zero-Touch Provisioning: Testing of end-to-end automated infrastructure and application deployment, driven by high-level intent definitions.
-
Pre- and Post-Provisioning Validation: Validation of built-in mechanisms to simulate and evaluate deployments before execution, reducing risk in production environments.
-
Intelligent Fault Detection and Guided Troubleshooting: Analysis of real-time issue detection, root cause diagnostics, and system-guided resolution processes.
-
End-to-End Visibility and SLA Monitoring: Evaluation of the platform’s ability to monitor application performance and infrastructure health to support SLA compliance.
-
Automated Backups and Instant Rollback: Assessment of configuration snapshot automation, change tracking, and fast rollback features to ensure operational resilience.
As a result, Huawei achieved an excellent AN Level 3.9 across all test areas – reaching L4 for network provisioning and application rollout, and L3.6 for monitoring and troubleshooting.
The results confirm the solution’s alignment with AN L4 objectives, demonstrating a high degree of autonomy and reliability in data center network operations
At the DTW Ignite 2025 in Copenhagen, EANTC’s Managing Director, Carsten Rossenhövel, presented the results of Huawei’s Data Center Autonomous Network solution. During the masterclass “AN L4 Solution Packages Blueprint: From Vision to Deployment”, Carsten shared key insights from the verification.
