CoRe 5G – Centres of Vocational Excellence for Resilient 5G Networks
We are pleased to be part of CoRe 5G – Centres of Vocational Excellence for Resilient 5G Networks, which officially launched on 5–6 May 2026 at OTE Academy in Athens, Greece.
Over the next four years, universities, vocational education providers, telecom companies, and industry organizations from Germany, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Greece, Slovenia, and Cyprus will collaborate to strengthen vocational education and practical skills related to 5G network deployment, telecom infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
The overall goal is to help make Europe’s communications infrastructure more resilient to cyberattacks and climate change by training skilled professionals for the telecom sector, while also helping address the growing shortage of qualified workers in this field.
In the first phase, we will analyze the current 5G landscape in each region. This phase includes reviewing stakeholders, regulatory frameworks, market requirements, and identifying gaps in technical skills and infrastructure. The findings from this phase will guide the development of future vocational education programs, the development of Innovation Labs with 5G testbeds, and the fostering of strong industry partnerships
As a project partner, EANTC will contribute our technical expertise and hands-on experience to develop practical training activities and educational programs that strengthen digital competencies in the telecom sector. We are excited to collaborate with all partners throughout this journey.
