EANTC at the xG-ALOE User Forum 2026

xG-ALOE initiative promotes innovation, knowledge sharing, and collaboration in Private 5G Networks. The initiative provides an open, collaborative environment where large enterprises can validate production readiness and operational deployment, while small- and medium-sized vendors can test and further develop their products and solutions.

The xG-ALOE User Forum 2026, organized by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, is a hands-on event focused on open 5G campus networks and enterprise connectivity.

The forum will take place on June 24–25, 2026, at Fraunhofer IIS in Nuremberg, and will bring together users, system integrators, technology providers, and research institutions to exchange experiences, discuss real deployments, and explore future developments from 5G towards xG enterprise networks. EANTC is proud to contribute to the forum with Tutorial B1: Certification, Testing & Plugfests, presented by Gabriele Schrenk, Dirk Hetzer, and Ilia Shafigh.

This interactive tutorial provides participants with practical insights into O-RAN technologies, validation strategies, and real-world deployment scenarios, including remote live demonstrations directly from the lab environment.

Participants will gain hands-on knowledge on:

  • Introduction to O-RAN, open interfaces, and the importance of validation for reliable deployments
  • Understanding O-RAN architectures, relevant interfaces, common challenges, and test objects, and typical sources of errors
  • Practical methodologies for interoperability, performance, end-to-end, and IoT validation
  • Test methods and tools for evaluating O-RAN systems in practical deployment scenarios
  • Campus network use cases, KPI measurements, and realistic industrial deployment scenarios
  • Automation, certification processes, and the role of standardization in scalable Open RAN ecosystems
  • Experiences and lessons learned from international O-RAN Plugfests and collaborative industry testing initiatives

The tutorial demonstrates how automated, standardized testing approaches empower participants to ensure the reliability, scalability, and interoperability of Open RAN ecosystems in their enterprise and campus networks.

Participants can expect a comprehensive program featuring technical tutorials, real-world use cases, live demonstrations, and valuable networking opportunities connecting industry experts, technology providers, researchers, and enterprise users.

The event program includes several tutorials covering topics such as:

  • Legal Framework for 5G Enterprise Networks
  • Certification, Testing & Plugfests
  • Fundamentals of O-RAN 5G: From Design to Network Bring-Up
  • 5G Positioning: Application & Validation of Spatial Awareness
  • Securing the Evolution to xG: Insights into 5G and Future Telco Network Security
  • Operation and Configuration of an O-RAN 5G network
  • Monitoring – 5G Enterprise Networks
  • Active and passive testing of 5G networks using scanner and test UE, what metrics are relevant?
  • Service Quality in Private 5G: Industrial Device Networking and Slice Prioritization
